Product Description

Liquid Iron & Nitrogen Fertiliser for Lush Green Lawns and Gardens

MaxGreen by Plant Doctor is a premium, science-backed liquid fertiliser formulated to deliver highly available iron (Fe) and nitrogen (N) for vibrant, deep green leaves. Enhanced with fulvic acid to boost nutrient uptake and retention, MaxGreen rapidly corrects iron deficiencies and supports healthy plant growth — making it essential for lawns, gardens, shrubs, and ornamentals.

Why choose Max Green:
  • Rapidly corrects iron chlorosis (yellow leaves)
  • Promotes strong chlorophyll production for rich green foliage
  • Boosts nutrient efficiency with fulvic acid
  • Versatile — ideal for lawns, gardens, fruit trees, shrubs, and vines
  • Eco-friendly, sustainable plant care solution
  • Effective in alkaline or calcium-rich soils where iron is locked up

*Avoid mixing with incompatible products; do jar test

  • Use as part of soil or foliar nutrition programs in orchards and nurseries
  • Compatible with integrated nutrient management systems

MaxGreen is suitable for all plant types and soil conditions, but it performs best when soil pH is managed to avoid extreme alkalinity. If yellowing persists despite treatment, test your soil’s pH and adjust as needed. When using MaxGreen in combination with other inputs (like fertilisers, herbicides, or insecticides), always perform a jar test first to ensure compatibility. Avoid application during high temperatures or full sun, and always rinse equipment and exposed surfaces immediately after use to prevent staining from the iron content.

The Science Behind Max Green:

Iron is an essential micronutrient required by plants for the production of chlorophyll, the green pigment that drives photosynthesis. Without enough iron, plants cannot effectively produce chlorophyll, which results in iron chlorosis, a condition marked by yellowing leaves with prominent green veins. This condition is common in lawns, fruit trees, shrubs, and ornamentals, especially in soils that are alkaline, compacted, waterlogged, or high in calcium.

MaxGreen delivers liquid iron in a highly available form, immediately absorbable by plant roots and foliage. What sets it apart is its inclusion of fulvic acid, a natural organic molecule known for its chelating and transport properties. Fulvic acid binds with nutrients like iron and nitrogen, protecting them from being locked up in the soil and helping them cross plant cell membranes more efficiently. This means plants absorb more, faster, especially under conditions where nutrients are usually unavailable.

Nitrogen (N) in MaxGreen supports lush leaf and shoot development, while sulphur (S) plays a role in protein synthesis and enzyme function. The synergy between these three nutrients, iron, nitrogen, and sulphur, improves plant colour, vitality, and growth rate, especially in stressed or nutrient-deficient conditions.

Together, the bioavailable iron, nitrogen, sulphur, and fulvic acid in MaxGreen create a powerful, fast-acting formula that revitalises tired, yellowing plants and keeps your lawn and garden thriving.

MaxGreen is your fast, effective answer to iron deficiency and nutrient lock-up. It quickly revitalises yellowing leaves and supports strong growth, ensuring your plants look their best all year round.

Safety Guidelines

Do not spray in hot weather or windy conditions.

Iron will stain paths, concrete, paving, clothes and skin, so always wear old clothes and gloves, wash hands after use and be carefully precise when applying near concrete and paths etc. Keep away from water sources such as ponds, pools etc. Can cause drying or mild irritation to skin - Rinse with water if contact occurs.

Iron deficiency in many plants & lawns is an indication of high pH or alkaline soil. If yellowing persists or returns rapidly after treatment, soil pH should be checked and adjusted if necessary. Follow application directions as excess liquid iron can lead to other problems, such as zinc and manganese deficiencies. While liquid iron provides immediate relief for plants & soil, it is not an adequate long-term solution for an iron deficiency. Keeping plants/Lawn in well-drained soil amended with sulphur to reduce the pH level can help iron in the soil become more available to plants.

DO NOT SWALLOW. Product may act as an irritant. Avoid inhalation and contact with the eyes & skin. Keep out of reach of children. Store sealed in a cool place.

PLEASE NOTE: THIS PRODUCT MAY FORM SOME SOLIDS THAT CAN BLOCK FINE NOZZLES, MAY HAVE TO STRAIN PRIOR TO FILLING IF CONCERNED. NOT compatible with humic based products.

Product Application

Iron products can have an adverse reaction with our darker liquids. To avoid blockages in sprayer nozzles, we recommend applying the Iron separately to other products. (Stimulizer is safe to mix with Iron). If attempting to mix together, try a jar test in the ratios you want to apply them in first. Iron should always be added last after all other products are diluted with water.

Applied separately at various frequencies allows you to tailor nutrient input based on the soil/plant/lawn's requirements and condition.

Popular Questions

Should I water the lawn after applying Max Green or wait 24 hours?

Foliar uptake can only happen while the leaf is wet. Max Green works best when lightly watered in after application to move nutrients into the soil. Environmental factors—such as wind, time of day, and soil pH—can influence the results, so performance may vary slightly with each application.

Can I mix Max Green with other products?

Max Green should not be mixed with other products, except for Stimulizer. Combining with other liquids may cause compatibility issues or reduce product effectiveness.

What does Max Green do?

Max Green is a liquid fertiliser with high nitrogen and iron. It quickly greens up lawns, strengthens leaf growth, and helps correct iron deficiencies for deeper colour and improved plant vigour.

How often should I apply Max Green?

Apply Max Green every 2–4 weeks during the growing season, or whenever your lawn starts to look pale or lacks vigour. Avoid over-applying to prevent nitrogen overload.

What is the application rate for Max Green?

Use 140ml per 100m² for general lawn use, diluted in water. Always read the label for specific dilution guidelines.

How quickly will I see results after applying Max Green?

Many users report visible greening within 24–48 hours after application, depending on weather and soil conditions.

Can I use Max Green on all lawn types?

Yes, Max Green is safe for use on all common Australian grasses, including buffalo, couch, kikuyu, and zoysia.

Is Max Green safe to use in hot weather?

Apply during the cooler parts of the day—early morning or late afternoon—to avoid stress or burn. Always water in lightly after application in warm conditions.

Is Max Green safe for pets and kids?

Yes, once the product has dried and been watered in, treated areas are safe for children and pets.

Can Max Green be used year-round?

Max Green is best used during the active growing seasons—spring, summer, and early autumn. Avoid applying in winter when grass is dormant.
