Nature’s Soil Wetter is a liquid concentrate formulated using organic colloidal suspension technology, allowing for immediate and effective results after application. It integrates seamlessly with most fertilisers and crop inputs, making it a highly versatile addition to any soil management program.

The Science Behind Nature's Soil Wetter

Nature’s Soil Wetter tackles one of the most overlooked soil challenges, hydrophobicity, or water repellence. Common in sandy soils, compacted clays, and degraded soils, this issue causes water to bead and run off rather than soaking in where plants need it. By reducing water’s surface tension, Nature’s Soil Wetter improves infiltration and rehydration, delivering moisture directly to root zones while enhancing soil structure over time. Unlike synthetic wetting agents, its natural colloidal chemistry and plant-based surfactants support soil biology. The formula binds and retains moisture, reduces nutrient leaching, and stabilises nitrogen fertilisers for up to 80 days. It also detoxifies soils by binding harmful residues and heavy metals, while buffering pH for a more stable growing environment. Whether on turf, in gardens, or across farms, Nature’s Soil Wetter does more than move water, it regenerates soil function, boosts nutrient efficiency, and builds long-term resilience in any growing system.

In summary, nature's soil wetter has the following functions:

  • Water Penetration: Breaks water’s surface tension to move deeper into the soil
  • Soil Structure Repair: Softens compacted soil and helps form beneficial soil crumbs
  • Fertiliser Stabilisation: Enhances nitrogen retention—extends urea effectiveness up to 80 days
  • Root Zone Hydration: Keeps moisture near plant roots longer, reducing stress
  • Soil Detox: Binds and neutralises salts, toxins, and heavy metals
  • pH Buffering: Helps soil resist extreme swings in pH

Nature’s Soil Wetter improves water penetration by allowing uniform infiltration across hydrophobic surfaces, while helping repair soil structure by loosening compacted layers and enhancing overall tilth. It also stabilises fertiliser, extending nitrogen availability for longer-lasting performance. In the root zone, it supports better hydration and moisture retention to boost plant resilience. Additionally, it aids in soil detoxification by binding harmful residues and excess salts, and provides gentle pH buffering to help moderate fluctuations in soil acidity.

Compatibility & Application Notes

  • Mix gently prior to use — no vigorous shaking required
  • Water in lightly after application
  • When mixing with acidic fertilisers or sulphate-based trace elements, conduct a jar test
  • Avoid combining with iron-based products
  • Suitable for year-round use, especially during dry seasons or when hydrophobicity appears
  • Compatible with fertigation, spray rigs, boom sprayers, injection systems, and overhead irrigation

Popular Questions

What is Nature’s Soil Wetter and how does it work?

Nature’s Soil Wetter is a commercial-grade, plant-based wetting agent and soil conditioner designed for large-scale treatment of hydrophobic or poorly structured soils. It improves infiltration by reducing surface tension, allowing irrigation and rainfall to move uniformly through the soil profile. This increases water-use efficiency, enhances fertiliser performance, and improves root-zone hydration across turf, horticulture, and broadacre sites.

Is Nature’s Soil Wetter safe for all commercial crops and turf species?

Yes. The formula is non-toxic, biodegradable, petrochemical-free, and suitable for use on all turf varieties, ornamentals, horticultural crops, broadacre plantings, native landscapes, nurseries, and revegetation programs. It is safe for sensitive species and high-traffic turf such as sports fields and golf greens.

What is the best application method for large-scale use?

For commercial operations, Nature’s Soil Wetter can be applied via boom spray, fertigation units, irrigation injection systems, tank mixes, or broadacre sprayers. Post-application irrigation is recommended to drive the product into the soil profile. Uniform coverage provides the most consistent results across large turf or crop areas.

How often should I apply it in commercial settings?

For ongoing soil conditioning, apply monthly or as part of routine irrigation maintenance. Severely hydrophobic sands, high-traffic sports turf, or soils with chronic water repellency may benefit from more frequent applications until infiltration improves.

What are the recommended rates for commercial use?

Typical commercial rates begin at 100ml per 100m². Higher rates may be used for seasonal treatments or heavily water-repellent soils. Always adjust based on soil type, irrigation practices, and site conditions.

How long should I wait before mowing after commercial application?

Allow 8–12 hours before mowing to ensure the product has fully soaked into the soil. Delaying mowing improves treatment effectiveness, especially in hydrophobic sands or compacted turf areas.

Should turf be cut before or after applying Nature’s Soil Wetter?

For large turf surfaces, mowing prior to application improves soil contact and reduces product loss on leaf material. This is recommended for golf courses, sports fields, and turf farm applications.

Can this product help reduce irrigation losses and dry patch in commercial turf?

Yes. Nature’s Soil Wetter is specifically formulated to improve water distribution, reduce run-off, and restore infiltration in dry patch areas. It is widely used in sports turf, amenities turf, agriculture, and horticulture to maximise irrigation efficiency and reduce water waste.

Is it environmentally safe for large-scale landscape and agricultural use?

Yes. The product is fully biodegradable and safe for waterways, pets, livestock, and beneficial soil biology. Its natural surfactants make it environmentally suitable for broadacre agriculture, council landscapes, turf farms, and environmentally sensitive areas.
